yup, never trust the dealer. i've got my eye on him too. they always have the best opportunity to cheat. plus, putting everybody's names on pieces of paper beforehand would be easy if you're the one who invited everybody.

additionally, the 'host' invited Kogoro, paid him $3,826.00 aka 500k Yen, and told him to bring FOUR PEOPLE. the five 'friends' and Kogoro's group make 9. a standard sheet of printer paper is easy to divide by 9 and knowing his friends he could pre-tear 9 pieces in the same way, label them with names, and/or the numbers 1-9 (JIC Kogoro's group did the smart thing and failed to name themselves). which makes it impossible to write anything on their 4 papers beforehand... well other than Kogoro's name. ;) i wonder why Aoyama missed that fact?

then the host/dealer can palm whichever pieces of paper he wants and pretend to draw them out of the tissue box. remember, HE chose the order of the rooms picked, therefore he has a DOUBLE chance to exactly assign himself and everybody else where he wants them to go.

i've already deduced what club they were in during HS. archery. specifically, that's a crossbow-bolt in that guy's forehead. only sports teams/clubs have captains, arts and other stuff clubs have presidents. :D
